A proposed environmental foundation

Local systems.
Cleaner futures.
Shared responsibility.

We are shaping locally anchored systems to prevent waste leakage, recover materials responsibly and create dignified green livelihoods.

01Why we exist

Waste does not disappear.
It travels.

What leaves a home, street or gathering place can move into soil, waterways and marine habitats. Our work begins with that connection.

Our mission is to prevent waste leakage, recover resources responsibly, create safe green livelihoods and turn suitable materials into verified useful outputs.

Inspired by the green turtle associated with Lakshadweep, Harit Koorma stands for patient endurance, ecological interdependence and practical stewardship.

We are at an early stage. The programmes described here express our intended way of working—not a claim of impact already achieved.

02Programme areas

One ecosystem.
Many points of action.

Each programme is designed around a real local material system, with clear responsibility from source to destination.

Our programme areas

01

Community material recovery

Source-segregated materials move through reliable collection, controlled sorting and responsible recovery routes.

Cleaner local material flows
02

Sacred & public places

Respectful, practical systems designed for places of worship, pilgrimage routes and community gathering spaces.

Place-sensitive operations
03

Festival response

Prepared teams, clear collection zones and accountable closure for short-duration waste surges.

Planned event recovery
04

Organics & clean energy

Segregated organics directed toward suitable composting, biomethanation or verified energy pathways.

Responsible organic routes
05

Circular materials

Controlled feedstock and careful testing for useful, responsible, non-structural applications.

Verified material use
06

Livelihoods & participation

Safe local roles, practical skills and community participation designed to make systems last.

Dignified local opportunity

These are proposed programme directions. Specific activities will be defined with local partners after assessment.

03How we work

Local by design.
Accountable by default.

A disciplined four-stage model keeps activity grounded, measurable and appropriate to place.

Our operating approach

01

Understand the place

Listen to local priorities and map people, materials, infrastructure and existing knowledge.

02

Design the system

Define safe roles, source segregation, collection controls and responsible downstream routes.

03

Document the journey

Record what enters, where it moves, what is rejected and how each material route closes.

04

Learn before growth

Review safety, quality, economics and outcomes before adapting or expanding the model.

04Evidence and transparency

Proof belongs inside
the process.

Evidence is not an afterthought. It is how partners, communities and the public can understand what happened.

Any future public outcome should be supported by a closed and reviewable record.

Trace every step

Records should connect source, batch, movement and destination before a public claim is made.

Protect people

Safety, fair processes and meaningful local participation take priority over collection volume.

Prove before scaling

A reliable local recovery system matters more than premature expansion or inflated claims.

05People power the system

Dignified work is an
environmental outcome.

We envision locally rooted roles across collection, sorting, record keeping, quality control, product finishing and community awareness.

  • Safe, trained participation
  • Fair and transparent processes
  • Local knowledge in decision-making
  • A focus on women-led opportunity

06Who we work with

Partners at every stage
of the material journey.

No single organisation can close the loop alone. Each partner contributes a distinct capability to one accountable local system.

Partnership pathways

01Local coordination

Public authorities

Co-design collection systems with clear responsibilities, local participation and transparent reporting.

02Programme support

CSR teams

Fund and strengthen place-based projects with defined milestones, safeguards and outcome visibility.

03On-ground adoption

Institutions

Put practical segregation and recovery systems to work across campuses, events and public or sacred places.

04Responsible processing

Recovery partners

Receive controlled material flows and provide documented, responsible downstream pathways.

07Start a conversation

Bring a real place.
Build a practical response.

We welcome thoughtful conversations with public authorities, CSR teams, institutions, communities, researchers and responsible recovery partners.

A useful first conversation starts with a defined place, a real material stream and a shared commitment to evidence.
